Rick Ford has over 45 years of automotive management experience.

From 2014 to December 2021, he was the founder, president, and CEO of RFJ Auto Partners, a top 10 revenue-generating, privately-held dealership group in the U.S. with more than $3.5B in revenue.

RFJ successfully merged with Sonic Automotive, a publicly traded dealership group, in December 2021, with a total transaction enterprise value of over $750 million. The return to its private equity investors was a 4.8x MOIC and 28% IRR.

Upon completing the successful merger with Sonic, Rick started Ford Family Investments, LLC, a single-family office investment firm. FFI is currently invested in multiple private equity funds, multiple venture capital funds, several joint ventures with other investors, and 15 direct company investments. FFI holds varying equity levels and multiple positions on the board of directors and advisory boards.

Rick is also a long-time real estate investor. His family has been in the real estate industry since he was young. The FFI real estate portfolio now includes over 50 properties, including several development projects in Texas, Montana, Oklahoma, and Florida. FFI owns more than 130,000 square feet of building space, and the company is redeveloping more than 25 acres of land.

Rick lives in the Dallas area with his wife. He also has two adult sons, an adult daughter, and three grandchildren.
